Water — but nothing like a home wash

Professional wet cleaning regulates everything a domestic machine can't: water temperature, drum rotation, moisture level and drying time are all controlled to protect delicate fibres. Instead of chemical solvents, we use purified water with biodegradable detergents — so clothes come back deeply clean, soft, and free of any chemical odour.

It's especially good at water-based stains that solvent struggles with — sweat, food, drinks — and it's often the kinder choice for silk, cashmere, fine wool and linen. Our cleaners choose between wet and dry cleaning per garment, based on the fabric, the care label and what the item actually needs.

Why it's different

Why choose wet cleaning

Kinder to sensitive skin

No solvent residue and no chemical smell — garments come back fresh, soft and comfortable, which many customers with sensitive skin notice immediately.

Better on water-based stains

Sweat, food and drink marks respond better to controlled water cleaning than to solvent — often the difference between faded and gone.

Gentle on the planet

Biodegradable detergents and no hazardous solvents — professional garment care with a much lighter environmental footprint.

Questions

Wet cleaning questions

What is professional wet cleaning?

A garment-care process that uses purified water and biodegradable detergents in a precisely controlled machine — temperature, drum movement and drying are all regulated to protect delicate fibres. It's a professional alternative to solvent dry cleaning, not a home wash.

Can "dry clean only" clothes be wet cleaned?

Many can, including silk, cashmere, fine wool and linen — the label is a conservative instruction, not always the only safe option. We assess every garment individually and only wet clean where it's genuinely the kinder process.

Is wet cleaning better for sensitive skin?

Many customers find it so — there's no solvent residue and no chemical odour, just soft, fresh-smelling clothes cleaned with biodegradable detergents.

Does wet cleaning cost more than dry cleaning?

No — garments are priced the same whichever process we use. An everyday dress is £21, knitwear £13.50, a 2-piece suit £25.50. See the pricing page for the full live list.
