Wool, sheepskin, machine-made or delicate — rugs take the most traffic in the house and hold the most dirt. We deep clean them by size in our Altrincham shop, lifting ingrained soil and odours while protecting the pile, colour and backing.
A rug isn't one thing: wool behaves differently from viscose, a hand-knotted rug differently from a machine-made one, and a sheepskin differently again. Each rug is assessed with you in store — fibre, dyes, backing and condition — then entrusted to our specialist rug cleaners, whose methods lift the dirt without felting the wool, bleeding the colours or hardening the backing.
For rugs that live in busy spots, add Scotchgard protection for £10: it helps the pile resist the next spill and keeps the rug cleaner for longer. Sheepskins have their own gentle process (+£10) that keeps the fleece soft.

Wool, sheepskin, viscose, synthetic or antique — the cleaning method is chosen for the fibre and dyes, not one-size-fits-all.
Ingrained grit, dust and odours are drawn out of the pile and the backing — not just surface-washed.
A £10 protective finish that helps the pile shrug off spills and everyday dirt — worth it for hallway and living-room rugs.
Priced simply by size — measured across the width, whatever the length:
We measure the rug with you when you bring it in and confirm the price before cleaning starts.
Rug cleaning is in-store only — rugs aren't available for collection or delivery, so please bring yours to 13 Shaw's Road, Altrincham (next to Caffè Nero). We're open Mon–Fri 9–5, Sat 9–4, Sun 11–4, and there's short-stay parking nearby. We'll measure it, agree the price, and let you know when it'll be ready to collect.
From £39 for rugs up to 80cm, £49 up to 120cm, £59 up to 150cm and £69 up to 180cm, then £10 per additional 30cm. Scotchgard protection is £10 extra, and sheepskins carry a £10 add-on for their gentler process.
Yes — wool is cleaned with a method that lifts dirt without felting or colour-bleed, and sheepskins get their own gentle process that keeps the fleece soft. Machine-made and synthetic rugs are welcome too.
We assess delicate and antique rugs individually — dyes, fringe and backing are checked first, and we'll tell you honestly what's achievable before you commit.
No — rug cleaning is an in-store service, so please bring your rug into the shop on Shaw's Road. It lets us measure and assess it with you and agree the price on the spot.
An optional £10 finish applied after cleaning that helps the pile resist spills and everyday dirt — a good choice for rugs in hallways and living rooms.
